Samir Y.

Born in Egypt, I immigrated to the United States approximately 45 years ago, seeking new opportunities and a fresh start. At a young age, my passion for sports, specifically soccer and football, ignited my athletic journey. From playing on the field to ultimately becoming a soccer referee at a high level, I dedicated myself to the game that I loved. After my playing and refereeing days, I transitioned into a different role within the soccer community. I took on the responsibility of an administrator, taking charge of the referee development program in Indiana. In this position, I worked tirelessly to nurture and shape future referees, ensuring that they were well-trained and equipped to maintain the integrity of the game. Aside from my professional pursuits, I remained committed to my personal life as well. I had the joy of being married for an incredible 37 years, sharing a lifetime of love, laughter, and support with my partner. Together, we raised a wonderful son who is now 31 years old, filling our lives with joy and pride. Throughout my life, I have embraced challenges, never shying away from opportunities to make a positive impact and contribute to the sports community. My journey from Egypt to the United States has shaped me into a resilient individual, ready to embrace new experiences and continue making a difference wherever life takes me.
