Because we may collect certain types of information about Users, we want you to fully understand our practices and the terms and conditions surrounding the collection and use of that information. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. The information you provide through the Services will be used only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
BY VISITING, SIGNING UP FOR, USING, BROWSING, OR ACCESSING THE SERVICES, YOU CONSENT TO THE DATA PRACTICES DESCRIBED IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH OUR PRIVACY PRACTICES, DO NOT USE THE SERVICES.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Personal Information
Through the Services, we may collect “Personal Information,” meaning information that identifies you or that, when combined with other information we maintain, can be used to identify you. Generally, we do not collect Personal Information when you visit and/or use the Services unless you choose to provide it to us. Submitting Personal Information through the Services is voluntary. By submitting Personal Information, you authorize us to use it for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Legal Bases for Collecting and Processing Personal Information
Where required by applicable law, we collect, process, and use Personal Information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy based on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Consent. We may ask for your consent to process your information for specific purposes. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
- Performance of a Contract. We process your Personal Information as necessary to provide the Services, administer your account, maintain and improve the Services, develop new features, and personalize your experience.
- Legitimate Interests. We may process your information for legitimate business purposes while applying appropriate safeguards to protect your privacy. These purposes may include detecting, preventing, or addressing fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical issues; protecting the rights, property, and safety of Rent A Cyber Friend, our Users, and the public; enforcing legal claims and investigating potential violations of this Privacy Policy; and complying with applicable laws, regulations, legal process, subpoenas, or governmental requests, as well as our Terms and Conditions.
Information We Collect and How We Collect It
We may collect information that can identify you (and, where applicable, your business) when you voluntarily submit it through the Services. If requested, Personal Information may include:
- Full name
- Mailing address
- Email address
- Demographic data (such as age, gender, and ZIP code)
- Other similar information
Storage and Security of Personal Information
We take reasonable precautions and implement physical, technical, and organizational measures consistent with industry standards to help protect your Personal Information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. Safeguards may include, for example, firewalls and data encryption. Access to Personal Information is limited to employees, contractors, and agents who need it to perform their job responsibilities, and they are required to treat such information as confidential.
However, the security of information transmitted over the Internet cannot be guaranteed. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failures, and other factors may compromise the security of your Personal Information. Information sent to us electronically or by email may not be secure, and any transmission is at your own risk.
Third-Party Authentication (Google & Apple)
If you choose to sign up or log in using third-party authentication services (such as Google Sign-In or Sign in with Apple), we will receive the information those providers share with us, which may include your name and email address. We use this information solely to create your account or authenticate your access to the Services. We do not access any other information from your Google or Apple account, and we do not share information back to those providers except as technically necessary to complete the authentication process.
2. NON-PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may collect and temporarily store certain information about your use of the Services. “Non-Personal Information” means information that does not identify you on its own, such as cookies, pixel tags, web beacons, and device information. This information may include, without limitation:
Device Data. We may collect information such as the type of computer and/or mobile device you use, your device’s unique identifier, your device’s IP address, your device operating system, and the type of internet browser used on your device.
Usage Details. When you access and use the Services, we may automatically collect certain details about your access to and use of the Services, including traffic data, log data, location data (as described below), and other communication data and resources that you access and use through the Services.
Location Information. When you first visit or use the Services, we may request permission to collect and use your device’s precise geolocation. You may decline to provide this permission; however, certain features of the Services may not function properly (or may be unavailable) without location access. You can control whether and how we collect precise geolocation information through your device settings.
If you do not want us to collect the information described above, you may adjust your device privacy settings or refrain from accessing or using the Services.
3. INFORMATION COLLECTION TECHNOLOGIES
The technologies we use for automatic information collection may include:
Cookies (including mobile cookies). We may use cookies to personalize your experience. A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a web server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you and can be read only by the web server in the domain that issued the cookie. You may accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline cookies. If you decline cookies, some features of the Services may not function properly.
Retargeting/Advertising Cookies. These cookies collect data about your online activity and interests so we (and/or our partners) can deliver advertising that may be more relevant to you.
Web Beacons. The Services and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that allow us, for example, to count users who have visited certain pages or opened an email, and to compile other related statistics.
Social Ad Services. We may use remarketing through social media tracking cookies and pixel-based retargeting services. This means that, if you have provided the relevant consent through a social media platform (the “Social Ad Services”) to receive personalized offers, you may be shown ads (including third-party ads) based on your interactions with the Services, including on third-party sites and across the internet. In that case, the Social Ad Services may place cookies on your browser and use them to serve ads based on your prior visits to the Services.

Mobile Device Identifiers. Mobile device identifiers are data stored on mobile devices that may track device activity and usage, including activity occurring through the Services and information about installed applications. These identifiers may enable the collection of information that may be considered Personal Information in some jurisdictions (such as device identifiers, IP address, and location data), as well as information about your interaction with the Services (including referring pages and related usage statistics).
Cross-Device Matching. To determine whether users have interacted with content across multiple devices and to link those devices, we may work with partners who analyze device activity data and/or use information such as demographic, geographic, and interest-based data. We may also provide de-identified data to these partners to support this analysis. Based on this information, we may display targeted advertisements across devices that we believe are associated, and/or analyze usage patterns across devices.
4. CHANGING YOUR DATA COLLECTION SETTINGS
We strive to provide you with choices regarding the Personal Information you provide to us. You may need to adjust the settings on your computer and/or device to restrict the collection of information by the Services; however, doing so may limit your ability to access or use certain features of the Services.
Tracking Technologies. You may be able to set your browser or device to refuse all or some cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, or block the use of other tracking technologies, some parts of the Services may be inaccessible or may not function properly.
Location Information. You can choose whether to allow the Services to collect and use real-time information about your device’s location through your device privacy settings. If you block location access, some or all of the Services may be inaccessible or may not function properly.
Social Ad Platforms. If you wish to opt out of retargeting and tracking by Social Ad Platforms, you must do so through each platform directly. Please note that tracking and targeting performed by Social Ad Platforms is based on your engagement with those platforms, and the nature and scope of their data collection and processing may not be fully known to us. For more information, please refer to each Social Ad Platform’s policies and settings.
You can decide whether to accept cookies through your internet browser settings. Most browsers allow you to disable cookies entirely or manage cookie acceptance on a site-by-site basis. You may also be able to limit mobile device identifiers by adjusting the privacy settings on your mobile device. You can also delete cookies already stored on your device. Although you are not required to accept cookies, if you block, reject, or delete them, you may need to manually adjust certain preferences each time you visit, and some Services features may not work as intended.
To explore cookie settings, check the “preferences” or “options” section of your browser menu. For more information about cookies, including how to manage and delete them, visit: http://www.allaboutcookies.org/.

We store and process information on third-party servers located in the United States, and we maintain backup and archival systems consistent with our internal practices. However, no method of transmission over the Internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure. Accordingly, we cannot and do not guarantee absolute security of any data you share with us, and, except as expressly required by law, we are not responsible for theft, destruction, loss, or inadvertent disclosure of your information or content.
If we believe the security of your Personal Information may have been compromised, we may notify you if and as required by applicable law. Where notice is appropriate, we will endeavor to notify you as promptly as reasonably possible under the circumstances. If we have your email address, we may provide notice by email to the most recent email address you have provided to us. You may print any notice you receive to retain a copy. You are responsible for monitoring your email account for such notices, and you consent to email notice for these purposes.
